Jojo Nem Singh is a Research Fellow at GLOCON working on a single-authored monograph entitled Building Capacity for Poverty Reduction: The Politics of Inclusive Growth in Resource-rich Countries. The project adopts a comparative case study design to process trace the politics of pro-poor growth in resource-rich countries, principally in Latin America and Africa. Prior to this appoint, Dr. Nem Singh was awarded the highly competitive Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Fellowship (2016-2017) to work with Professor Jin Sato (University of Tokyo) on the Politics of Natural Resources in Southeast Asia. Between 2013 and 2016, he was appointed as Lecturer in Development (Tenure-track) at the University of Sheffield, UK. His research intersects across three key issue areas: (1) political economy of development in mineral and oil-rich countries in all regions, (2) contentious politics and claims-making in Latin America, and (3) global governance of natural resources. He has also worked as an Expert Consultant for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Brussels, United Nations Research in Social Development (UNRISD) Geneva, and Publish What You Pay (PWYP) London.
