DESCRIPTION: This international symposium deals with conflicts over resourc
 es - for instance\, regarding mining and land - that are related to contemp
 orary political-economic and socio-ecological crises.   The symposium focus
 es on four themes: theory and concepts\; the role of the state\; social rel
 ations\; and transformation from below. The aim of the symposium is to brin
 g together scholars from different fields of research and world regions to 
 enhance our knowledge of the linkages between conflicts and global crises\,
  the role of the state\, the interrelations between conflicts over resource
